I'm writing a book, and it's no easy task. I make excuses. I get discouraged by the ideas I don't think are good enough and the writing I don't think is literary enough. I hope this blog will free me up by allowing me to get out the crazy and get down to writing.
I've had several ideas for books, but nothing that I truly believed could make it as a novel until my most recent idea. I've always heard that you should write about what you know. Well, I'm a middle-class college grad, and the experiences I've had don't scream "excitement." However, I do think I have a few things to say and these things have come about because of the people I know and the ways they've influenced me. That's what I'm going to write about. The rest is up to imagination!
Enough for now, time to buckle down and write.
